“The Asia-Pacific region is of major strategic importance for us”

Based in Hong Kong, the newly appointed General Manager Asia-Pacific, Irene Tan, will manage the RECARO Aircraft Seating business and operations in the APAC region. In addition, she will oversee the site in Qingdao in Eastern China. “With Irene Tan, we can expand on our competence in this region and strengthen our position in the market. Moving closer to our customers will enable us to act even more quickly and more flexibly,” explains Dr Mark Hiller, Chief Executive Officer and Shareholder, RECARO Aircraft Seating GmbH & Co. KG. To consistently pursue these objectives, the company from Schwaebisch Hall decided to integrate the Sales Department for Asia-Pacific into the hub in Hong Kong as well. Headed by Rene Lux, the department will report directly to Irene Tan.

Twenty years of experience in the aviation industry

Prior to joining RECARO Aircraft Seating, Irene Tan was the Regional Director of Marketing and Product Strategy at Panasonic Avionics Corporation. Before that, she held various positions with Singapore Airlines, Dragon Airlines and Cathay Pacific. “Thanks to my diverse experience in product management, I bring much industry know-how to the table,” says Irene Tan. “In my previous positions, I learned the significance of providing passengers with a seamless flight experience,” she emphasizes. “I am very much looking forward to making a contribution to strengthening the Asia-Pacific region and to being part of this important strategic development at RECARO.”
