Ten years Recaro Aircraft Seating in Poland

Ingenious Design made in Europe

SCHWAEBISCH HALL, Germany / SWIEBODZIN, Poland. Since 2006, Recaro Aircraft Seating has been producing aircraft seats at the Polish plant in Swiebodzin, about 100 kilometers east of Frankfurt/Oder, Germany. A state-of-the-art manufacturing plant for the final assembly of aircraft seats spans the new 10,000-square-meter building, completed in 2012. Recaro employs more than 150 workers at its Polish site.

The company Recaro Aircraft Seating is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of its Polish plant in Swiebodzin, Poland and has invited more than 100 guests to Poland for this occasion.

“With our second plant in Europe, we have established a production site since 2006 that we have been developing systematically for our needs and process flows. It enables us to optimally respond to the globally growing demand of our customers for aircraft seats,” says Dr. Mark Hiller, Chief Executive Officer and Shareholder of Recaro Aircraft Seating.

The plant in Swiebodzin has consistently evolved to a best practice site of Recaro and a local purchasing site for Eastern Europe.

Says Thomas Keller, General Manager of Recaro Aircraft Seating in Poland, “Our committed and highly qualified team as well as the close proximity to our suppliers ensure reliable quality in the production of aircraft seats and facilitate a high on-time delivery for our customers in our worldwide network.”

For the past 10 years, the Polish site has been perfectly complementing the worldwide Recaro network of supplier companies, production and sales in Germany, the U.S. and China. Recaro’s growth strategy provides that all seat models from the portfolio can be manufactured at each production site to counter any potential capacity shortages.

In late June, the Polish Recaro plant was honored with the “Manufacturing Award 2016.” The German site had received the award “Best Factory” of the “Industrial Excellence Awards” competition in 2015.

Says Dr. Mark Hiller, “With the optimization of our process flows at all production sites, we have positioned our company well for the future, and we expect a continuously high volume of orders. Since 2006, more than 200,000 aircraft seats have been delivered from the Polish plant to our customers.”

The aviation industry has been growing by five percent per year on average. With an increase in sales of over 11 percent in 2015, Recaro Aircraft Seating was significantly above this general trend in the aviation sector.
