RECARO Aircraft Seating welcomes Chris Buckner as Director of Product Management from Delta Air Lines

SCHWAEBISCH HALL, Germany, 11 February, 2019 – RECARO Aircraft Seating (RAS) announces the appointment of Chris Buckner, as the Director of Product Management. Chris joins RAS from Delta Air Lines where he held the positon of Director of Onboard Product and comes very well equipped to help RAS continue its focus on further enhancing RAS´ customer centricity and sustaining international momentum to help drive comfort in the sky to new heights.

Chris can build on more than 12 years of experience in the aviation industry, both on the airline and manufacturing side. Having worked at Delta Air Lines in various Commercial roles for the last 8.5 years, he combines a strong knowledge of the aviation industry with deep insights into customer needs. Prior to Delta, Chris held positions at Rockwell Collins as a Systems Engineering Lead in Government Systems and as an Engineer in Performance Engineering at Northwest Airlines.

As the Director of Product Management at RECARO Aircraft Seating Chris will play a pivotal role in leading the development new seating solutions by being responsible for the long-term product strategy, the product roadmap and product lifecycle. Located in Schwäbisch Hall Germany, he reports to RECARO Aircraft Seating´s CEO and Shareholder, Dr. Mark Hiller.

Chris holds a Bachelor´s in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Iowa. During his studies, he spent one year at the Technische Universität Hamburg (TUHH). Chris is originally from Minnesota and he and his wife, who is from Germany, recently relocated to Schwäbisch Hall with their daughter.  Chris is also fluent in German.
