RECARO Aircraft Seating Selected to elevate passenger comfort in Condor's economy class

Award-winning BL3710 and lightweight SL3710 will equip more than 40 Airbus aircraft

Schwaebisch Hall, Germany, February 29, 2024 –  RECARO Aircraft Seating, a global leader in aircraft seat manufacturing, has been chosen by German leisure airline Condor to supply the Economy Class cabins of its new Airbus fleet with the award-winning BL3710 and lightweight SL3710 seats.

The order includes 28 Airbus A321 and 13 A320 aircraft to be delivered between 2024 and 2028. The nearly 9,000 seats ordered will be installed in a hybrid layout and feature distinctive Condor branding elements.

The BL3710 seat comes equipped with several comfort amenities, such as individual USB power, an enhanced ergonomic seat bottom, an adaptable tray table, elongated armrests, and a bring-your-own-device (BYOD) holder to tailor the entertainment experience in the cabin.

The lightweight SL3710 model offers advanced ergonomics suitable for all body types, along with the convenience of USB power access at each seat, an integrated cup holder, all fitted on an eight-kilogram frame.

A commitment to long-lasting performance is underscored by the customer service team at RECARO, dedicated to optimizing the lifespan and functionality of Condor’s seating. Moreover, common spare parts between the BL3710 and SL3710 models contribute to reduced maintenance expenses for the airline.

“This collaboration with Condor underscores our commitment to providing passengers with comfort and functionality, and also reaffirms our role in pushing the boundaries of sustainable design," said Dr. Mark Hiller, CEO of RECARO Aircraft Seating and RECARO Holding. "As Condor expands their Airbus fleet, we look forward to enhancing the in-flight experience.”

The seating company’s pioneering design principles also provide environmental advantages. The lightweight seats present opportunities for fuel savings and aligns with the sustainability commitments of both Condor and RECARO.

“By choosing RECARO seats, we are striving to maximise comfort for our guests on short and medium-haul flights”, said Christian Schmitt, Chief Operations Officer and Accountable Manager Condor. “With the new long-term partnership, we rely on the many years of experience, the latest innovations and a great service in this area at RECARO to strengthen the Condor product and onboard experience.”
