RECARO AIRCRAFT SEATING IS DRIVING COMFORT IN THE SKY AT AIX 2022

Recaro celebrates 50 years of business by raising the bar for seating innovation

AIX, Germany, June 13, 2022 – Recaro Aircraft Seating (Recaro) focuses on driving comfort in the sky at AIX 2022. Equipped with a half-century of expertise, Recaro is considered to be a trailblazer in the aircraft seating market. By prioritizing investments in people and innovation, Recaro offers airlines flexible solutions through their enhanced customer service capabilities and robust product lineup.

Present at the AIX booth are the newest Recaro CL6720 business class and CL3810 economy class seats, which were created to meet the needs of airlines and passengers. Most recently the CL3810’s ergonomic design earned a Focus Open Gold and iF Design Award.

The seats are developed with the company’s signature lightweight design methods, which are a core part of the engineering process at Recaro. Another top priority are privacy solutions and can be found on the business class, premium economy and economy products.

Recaro continues its investments into R&D, having allocated more than 10% in 2021 and also invested 50 M€ in a brand-new customer service center, which features a crash facility and flam-lab. In addition, the worldwide customer service team has established Recaro as the go-to solution provider for customers with tight turnarounds. The pre-configured SPRINT seat offers airlines an eight-week lead time and will also be showcased at the Recaro AIX booth.

Sustainability is a main driver for Recaro. From developing lighter products and minimizing the total cost of ownership to sourcing sustainable materials and extending the seat’s lifecycle, Recaro is committed to reducing the carbon footprint during product development, starting at the first step in the process. The global leader in seating is also working with customers and suppliers on new solutions. An overview of the sustainability initiatives will be available at the Recaro AIX booth, and additional information can be found in the company’s Sustainability Report.

“Since the establishment of Recaro Aircraft Seating in 1972, we have not wavered in our commitment to deliver innovative seating solutions that enhance the passenger journey,” said Dr. Mark Hiller, CEO at Recaro Aircraft Seating. “Our global footprint has allowed us to overcome challenges and advance toward our long-term vision of driving comfort in the sky. We are proud of the newest additions to our portfolio and I look forward to gaining additional feedback on our showcased products while at AIX.”
