New General Manager at Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc.

Further development of the Recaro site in Fort Worth

Fort Worth, Texas/USA. Sunitha Vegerla has been appointed as General Manager of Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc. Sunitha Vegerla will assume her new role as of June 1, 2014. She will succeed Dr. Mark Hiller, Chief Executive Officer of Recaro Aircraft Seating, who took over management of the site on an interim basis.

“With Sunitha Vegerla we have selected an internal candidate for the position of General Manager,” explains Mark Hiller. “She has been with the company for ten years now and has contributed significantly to the positive development of our U.S. facility. With her expertise and background, she will ensure continuity and further growth of the location.”

Sunitha Vegerla has been with Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc. since 2004. Since then she has been actively involved in the development of the facility which has grown from 60 employees to now more than 400 employees. In her latest position as Vice President Program Management and Customer Service, she oversaw all the development and sustaining programs, BFE management, order management as well as the Customer Service department. She has also been part of the executive team for two years now.

Under the leadership of Sunitha Vegerla, the executive team will concentrate on the further development of the facility. The mid-term goal is to promote the site strategy with a production capacity of 40,000 seat units annually with highest quality. In the long term the goal is to fulfill the vision of Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc. to be the largest production facility in the Recaro network.

Ralf Kuehn, who until now has been Manager of OEM and Airline Support at Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc. will succeed Sunitha Vegerla as Director Program Management and Customer Service effective June 1, 2014. Ralf Kuehn, who has been with Recaro Aircraft Seating in Fort Worth since 2010 and with Recaro Group since 1984, has many years of experience in the industry and in several management roles.

In the meantime, Yvonne McConachie, Executive Vice President Operations and Engineering, has announced that she will accept a new professional challenge within the industry. “We would like to thank Yvonne McConachie for her dedicated work supporting our growth strategy at Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc. in the past five years,” says Mark Hiller.
