“Focus Gold” award for Recaro Aircraft Seating

"The ‘Focus Gold’ is the second award for this economy class product. We already received the prestigious ‘iF Design Award 2015’ this year. The acclaim from the expert judges is all the more rewarding, as it is our aim to stand out from our competitors with the design of our seats. This serves as an incentive to continue along our path."

Highlight product for the economy class

The Recaro CL3710 is Recaro’s highlight product for the economy class cabin. Passengers enjoy maximum comfort in this seat: Recaro’s entire expertise in ergonomics was incorporated into the CL3710. As part of the product development, 18 patent applications were filed. For example, the ergonomic headrest is unique in its combination of many features: It can be adjusted in six different ways, allowing it to be optimized to suit passengers of different sizes. It also provides optimized neck support that can be tipped horizontally.

"At less than twelve kilograms, the CL3710 is the lightest product in its class. By retrofitting aircraft with this Recaro seat, weight savings of up to 1,000 kilograms per aeroplane can be achieved," says René Dankwerth, Executive Vice President Research & Development. "In this way our CL3710 contributes significantly to the sustainability and efficiency of an airline."

Focus Design Award

The Focus Open 2015 International Design Award has an excellent reputation in Germany as well as other countries and is highly respected for its integrity and non-commercial orientation. This year, companies and professional designers from all over the world competed for the coveted awards. All winning products, including the Recaro CL3710, will be on display from October 17 to November 22, 2015 in the Design Center Stuttgart exhibition at the MIK Museum in Ludwigsburg, Germany.
