Five stars for the aircraft cabin

Solution provider Recaro at the AIX 2018

SCHWAEBISCH HALL, Germany – Recaro Aircraft Seating is showcasing a young product portfolio at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg. Highlights are the new economy class seat for short and medium-haul flights, as well as the three most recent business class models. The premium seat manufacturer’s “five-star package” – Individuality, Privacy, Total Cost of Ownership, I-Seat and Lifecycle – offering customers significant added value, will also be presented at the booth. The world market leader in economy class seats will be demonstrating its innovative strength, quality and customer focus in Hall 7, Booth B20.

During the three-day trade fair in Hamburg, Recaro is presenting its entire economy class product range, including premium economy, as well as the three most recent seats from its business class portfolio. The seat manufacturer is introducing a new trim and finish, with newly designed seat covers and surfaces that reflect the Recaro brand’s exceptionally high standard. Visitors will have an opportunity to experience all features first-hand.

Individuality: Customer needs always in the foreground
Recaro offers its customers individualized features for all seats. The new BL3710 economy class seat features outstanding modularity. With numerous equipment options, the seat can be adapted to the airlines’ different needs. With the BL3710, a tablet holder and various other comfort features are available. The aircraft seat can therefore be used for both short and medium-haul routes.

Privacy: A design study with sliding doors
The CL6710 business class seat now provides more privacy on long-haul flights – with a new concept with sliding components. The sliding doors can be customized. The feel-good ambience is underlined with individual lighting. The premium seat can also be actively experienced in a virtual cabin at the exhibition.

TCO: Smart design reduce maintenance
As an expression of Recaro’ "Ingenious Design", the trio of functionality, ergonomics and aesthetics, Recaro aircraft seats are very reliable and easy to maintain. The components are intelligently installed and wear-resistant, as well as easy to replace. This ensures minimal spare part requirements and short repair times. For example, the SL3510 economy class seat is extremely robust thanks to a reduction in components and the use of particularly durable materials, which also reduces maintenance costs.

I-Seat: networking and error detection deliver real benefits
With its "intelligent seat", Recaro demonstrated last year that the digital revolution is also very active above the clouds, using the example of the CL3710. At the AIX 2018, the CL3710 will once again be presented as an I-Seat variant. Important seating information as well as operating system data can be transmitted to the cabin crew and ground personnel. Thanks to early error detection and diagnostics, the elimination of visual inspections and pre-calculated maintenance intervals should enable costs to be reduced in the future.

Lifecycle: an extensive offering through the entire lifecycle
Recaro’s Customer Service offers its customers all-inclusive support from the moment a seat is purchased – starting at commissioning, with training on seat functions all the way to technical support should issues arise. Additionally, the company offers on-site support for Boeing (Everett, US) and Airbus in Hamburg and Toulouse. As a Certified Design Organization (DOA), Recaro provides its customers comprehensive service for modification projects and retrofit assignments in the aircraft cabin.
