Enhanced passenger comfort: the new CL6710

Recaro offers various options for adapting the long-haul business class seat to airline-specific needs

Schwaebisch Hall/Hamburg, Germany. Recaro Aircraft Seating is presenting its CL6710 business class seat for long-haul flights with enhanced passenger comfort at the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2015 in Hamburg. The timeless design of the innovative seat offers a wide variety of options for adapting the seat to airline-specific needs: from various privacy and stowage solutions, to the look and feel of the seat control unit, different trim and finish options and dress covers. The options for customizing Recaro business class seats go beyond basic design: Recaro premium quality now extends to monument solutions.

"The CL6710 offers the optimum balance of premium comfort, light weight, and timeless design. In this seat, passengers travel in their own compartment-like area which offers excellent living space and direct aisle access. This combination led to major success in 2014", explains Dr. Mark Hiller, Chief Executive Officer and Shareholder of Recaro Aircraft Seating. "We received very positive feedback and various customer requests for this seat. Starting at the end of 2016, a European launch customer will be equipping its aircraft with our product highlight." The winner of the prestigious German Design Award – Special Mention provides premium comfort, both in terms of the length and width as well as its positions. A large and wide bed invites the passenger to stretch out and relax while well protected by the seat shell from disturbances from the aisle. The full-flat bed allows bed lengths from 78 up to 82 inches. It provides a generous footwell and ample shoulder and bed width.

"We are continuously adding new features for the CL6710 to even further enhance the passenger comfort. At this year’s show, we are presenting a further development of the seat", says Mark Hiller. Movable armrests at both sides of the CL6710 offer passengers additional options to adjust the seating environment according to their individual needs. They enjoy more shoulder space in the sleeping position when armrests are down, or feel shielded from the aisle or cold cabin wall when armrests are up. Additionally, a retractable divider allows to individually adjust the level of privacy for adjacent center seats.

Passengers enjoy more usability when it comes to the seat control unit (SCU): By refining the visual layout of the SCU, the Recaro design team optimized intuitive handling. To enhance the "pleasant stay experience" on board, the new CL6710 enables airlines to offer their passengers a practically unlimited choice of entertainment options. From the moment of boarding until leaving the aircraft, IFE can now be made available in all flight phases, gate-to-gate. Thanks to the flexibility of the seat design, airlines can decide where sockets for PC power, headphones or USB should be placed.

For the first time, Recaro Aircraft Seating is also offering a package of monument solutions with the CL6710. "Working together with partner companies that complement our core product by intelligent cabin integration solutions, we can support our customers in optimizing their layout and stowage efficiency as well as introducing creative additional signature features into the cabin," says Bernhardt Seiter, Vice President Cabin Strategy at Recaro Aircraft Seating. Recaro offers a wide variety of options for cabin interiors equipped with the new CL6710. The front row monuments are flexible and adaptable to airline-specific needs. They offer all comfort features for first row passengers and at the same time maximize stowage space for the crew.
