Win-win situation for Lufthansa and passengers

Lightweight, slim, comfortable: The new Basic Line 3520 economy class seat developed by Recaro Aircraft Seating for the new Lufthansa European cabin implements hightech German engineering to lower costs – without sacrificing quality and passenger comfort. This is made possible by intelligent designs, patented solutions, and the integration of scientific research. More than 180 aircraft in the Lufthansa short- and medium-range fleet will be retrofitted with 32,000 Recaro seats by the end of 2011.

Low-cost operator flydubai will be the launch customer implementing a new fiber optics-based in-flight entertainment system in seats developed and manufactured by Recaro Aircraft Seating. The deal that flydubai signed with Recaro and Lumexis was recently announced. The new IFE system from Lumexis is the winner of the Crystal Cabin Award 2010 in the “Entertainment and Communication” category.

Schwaebisch Hall/Hamburg, Germany. Lufthansa relies on Recaro Aircraft Seating: The aircraft seat developer and manufacturer supplies products for all three classes in the airline's new A380 fleet. Lufthansa has ordered a total of 15 A380 aircraft. Each of these planes will be equipped with 420 economy class seats, 98 business class seats and components for first class seats supplied by Recaro Aircraft Seating.

Schwaebisch Hall/Hamburg, Germany. Sitting for hours on long-haul flights in economy class will soon become a thing of the past. Recaro Aircraft Seating is presenting the “Skycouch” designed by Air New Zealand at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg. This new concept converts three adjacent seats into a lie-flat, flexible space. Recaro Aircraft Seating will start supplying the new seats for Boeing aircraft operated by Air New Zealand in autumn 2010.
