easyJet to equip its new aircraft exclusively with Recaro seats

Schwaebisch Hall, Germany. easyJet has made a clear choice for Recaro Aircraft Seating: For the first time, the airline has ordered the seat model SL3510, distinguished by its light weight and ease of maintenance. Over the next five years, easyJet plans to exclusively install Recaro seats in its new aircraft. In an initial phase, 2,500 seats will be installed in a total of 14 A320 aircraft. The first easyJet aircraft with Recaro on board will be delivered to the airline in April 2013.

Recaro Aircraft Seating nominated for the 2013 Crystal Cabin Award

Schwaebisch Hall/Hamburg, Germany. “Recaro goes green” – the company has been following this strategy with dedication for years. As one part of this strategy, the aircraft seat supplier examines the ecological implications of its seats from a scientific perspective. The knowledge gained in this life cycle assessment (LCA) influences product development at an early stage, with positive effects for the airlines – both in ecological and in economic terms. For this assessment, Recaro Aircraft Seating was nominated for the 2013 Crystal Cabin Award and has now made it to the final round of the competition. Winners will be announced at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg on April 9, 2013.

Greg Nitch appointed as new Vice President “Customer” at Recaro Aircraft Seating

Schwaebisch Hall, Germany. On March 1, 2013, Greg Nitch took over as Vice President “Customer” at Recaro Aircraft Seating. As a member of the executive management team, Nitch (51) is responsible for sales, program management and customer service. With the new appointment the aircraft seat manufacturer completed its executive management team and prepares for the further expansion of its international activities.

Groundbreaking for new Recaro plant in China

Schwaebisch Hall, Germany/Qingdao, China. On December 12, 2012, the groundbreaking ceremony for Recaro Aircraft Seating’s new Chinese plant took place. The company, based in Schwaebisch Hall, is building a new facility in the province of Shandong to manufacture seats for the local market. The first seats are expected to roll off the production line at the end of 2013.

Schwaebisch Hall/Berlin, Germany. Recaro Aircraft Seating has received the Manufacturing Excellence (MX) Award in the “customer orientation” category. On November 16, 2012, representatives from the aircraft seating supplier accepted the award at the Axel Springer building in Berlin.
