“Smart Cabin Reconfiguration” is honored with a highly coveted award
SCHWAEBISCH HALL, Germany. The “Smart Cabin Reconfiguration” concept, a collaborative research effort between Airbus, THK and Recaro Aircraft Seating, was given the Crystal Cabin Award 2017 in the “Passenger Comfort Hardware” category at the AIX in Hamburg. The innovation from Recaro is called Flex Seat. With a simple sliding seat concept, seat pitch can be increased for passengers when flights are not fully occupied. To this end, the proven and award-winning SL3510 economy class seat for short- and medium-haul flights is simply folded up, and the front seat rows are then pulled apart like an accordion to increase the seat pitching. This results in significantly more space for passengers.

Alaska Airlines is launch customer for the new CL4710 domestic first class seat by Recaro
SCHWAEBISCH HALL, Germany - Recaro Aircraft Seating and Alaska Airlines expand their successful cooperation. The North American airline will be taking its passengers to the next level of exclusive seating comfort as the launch customer for the new CL4710 domestic first class seat. The seat, designed specifically for domestic and shorter international flights, is characterized by its unique level of comfort, its functionality and flexible equipment options. The new seat will be installed in the First Class cabin on Alaska’s Boeing and Airbus aircraft. More than 80 percent of the Alaska Airlines fleet is currently equipped with seats from the German aircraft seat manufacturer.
