Quality Inspection Planner

Overview

The Quality Inspection Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining inspection plans for all production parts. This role also includes the responsibility to develop and maintain a system to estimate and evaluate inspection efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Setup Quality Management data for new materials in SAP Material MasterTrain inspectors on applicable standards including Drawing, Bill of Material, additional Design Specifications, SAP processes, Product Management System Teamcenter
  • Create and maintain Quality inspection plans for FAI-, Receiving- and Spares Inspection of materials.
  • Update Quality inspection plans based on Quality Alerts, Quality Escapes and repeated non-conformities.
  • Develop a system to estimate inspection efforts for materials based on Quality inspection plans
  • Determine need for 100%-inspection criteria based on non-conformities
  • Develop and maintain standard Quality inspection plan templates based on Bill of Material and drawing criteria
  • Establish Inspection Standards for all parts based on historical inspection data
  • Develop and maintain standards and training material for creating and maintaining Quality inspection plans
  • Main contact for Dress Cover Reference Sample process
  • Maintain and test the accuracy of the skiplot algorithm
  • Track and maintain all data for purges
  • Train colleagues on setup of materials and creating and maintaining Quality inspection plans in SAP
  • Create and maintain reports and KPIs
  • Perform administrative and other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Degree in a technical field or related quality assurance certifications preferred 
  • 3 years of experience in quality inspection or a similar field
  • Data collection and analytical skills
  • Be able to use considerable judgement and discretion in the discharge of your duties
  • This position is an entry level position requiring detailed knowledge of both the production process and the quality requirements.
